Live and Installation Projects Manager
Neil is a Syracuse, NY born guitarist, singer, songwriter, band leader, and
manager of all things production. From an early age, Neil was steeped in the
blues tradition that's rooted in Syracuse from the city's years as a stop for
tours traveling between New York and Chicago. At his admittedly great fortune,
many caring mentors and elder statesmen of the scene took him under his wing and
helped steer him on his now current path as an artist.
Additionally, Neil is a graduate of Cornell University’s physics department. As
a yin to the yang of being an artist, Neil enjoys artistic production management
because of its technical intricacies and the need for attention to detail. When
not working with this incredible ShaneMixed team, you can find Neil fronting his
band, playing acoustic solo shows, or backpacking through the Adirondacks. You can find his work here.
Audio Engineer
Sarah Gross is a singer, songwriter, producer, and audio
engineer from Long Island, NY and a recent graduate from the Sound & Recording
Technology Program at Syracuse University. You can often find her in her home
studio tuning vocals, time aligning drums, adding vocal harmonies, or begging
Pro Tools to move faster, all while her corgi nods in approval (or disapproval).
When she's not audio engineering or running the social media for Mixworld, she's
playing her original music around New York, reading, or psychoanalyzing Taylor
Swift's new album on a hike somewhere. She is very excited to be on the Mixworld
team alongside such talented, intelligent, and kind people. Check out Sarah's work here!
Audio Engineer
Patterson is a recording engineer who got his start by learning from Todd and
Brett Hobin at Hobin Studios when he was only 12 years old. He went on to
produce projects that were nominated and won SAMMYs before moving to New York
City to continue his education at New York University, learning from legendary
recording engineers like eight-time Grammy-winning Kevin Killen and 60-time
Grammy nominated Alan Silverman and working in leading studios around the city.
In 2019-2020, Shane helped develop the Sound Recording program at SUNY OCC,
taught in the program from 2021-2023, and continues to guest lecture, help
advise, and create opportunities for the students.
Patterson worked on his first Grammy nomination as an engineer in 2021. In
2023, he was invited to join the Recording Academy as a voting
member.
From 2022-2024, Shane served as the chief audio engineer for a major 10,000sqft
recording facility with several studios and oversaw the technical details of an
expansion into 40,000sqft of post production space. While incredibly grateful
for the experience and lessons learned from overseeing all the technical details
of such a large facillity working for some of the worlds most discerning
clientele, Shane moved on in 2024 to focus on working directly with musical
artists and their projects.
When Shane isn't in the studio, you might find
him working on live sound and events. In late 2024, Shane joined Clair Global,
specifically working on music festivals such as Coachella, Bottlerock, Govball,
and Soundstorm.

While I often times move production and tracking projects through various studios that are the best fit for the project, I'm thrilled to have a purpose built mixing room for my work.
The room is most notable by the ATC SCM50ASLs that are flanked by Amphion One15s. This monitoring combination leaves absolutely nothing to guesswork- every detail is obvious. Additionally, the room features several feet of acoustic control and bass trapping behind the fabric walls, in various combinations of materials designed to control the frequency response. As a result, the room has not only flat frequency response (+/- 4dB 19hz-18khz) without any corrective processing, but consistent time-domain response (no one frequency rings longer or shorter than any others).
The room was built to be an ATMOS room, so there is a full JBL 12-channel ATMOS system as well, with the cabling neatly hidden behind the walls.
This matters to me because it means I can do my best work. And it matters to the music,
because I can efficiently remove any distractions from the story, and ensure the impact of
the
music will be heard on any playback system.
There's some fun gear too. I am a
huge
fan of Apogee and Mytek converters, tube mics and compressors, analog synths, snacks, and
coffee, so
my room contains all of those as well.
I always love to chat tech and about this room, reach
out
with any questions!
Every mix starts with important questions about aesthetic, vision, and what you want improved.
Sarah imports audio files and prepares the technical foundation for your mix.
Shane dives in with fresh ears, focusing on making the emotion of your song connect with listeners.
We provide two versions of the first mix - giving you options to steer our collaboration.
If you're looking for someone who prioritizes vocal presentation and emotional authenticity, that will focus on small decisions with big impacts driven by the storytelling in your music, I'd love to get in touch about your next project.
If you have a smaller project (like an acoustic session) or a larger project (a film or live set) please reach out and let's see what we can do!
While the "next mix slot" estimator is based on the parameters to set up a mix for maximum success, if you need something sooner please let us know.
We work in both Stereo and Atmos, please let us know what you need!
